As part of our growth plans, we are looking to hire an Associate with exceptional administrative and research skills. In our environment, the Associate will be expected to work comfortably under pressure with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

To ensure success, the suitable incumbent should be detail-oriented, exercise sound judgment, solutions driven and must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Top candidates will be familiar with key legal principles and possess incredible accuracy, strong IT skills, and excellent time management Strong multitasking and prioritisation skills, Strong ethics, High degree of professionalism and Team collaboration

The successful candidate should be looking for a long-term role and be interested in growing with the firm and will work closely with and provide legal support to the Managing Director and Director.

The Associate will be responsible for the standard duties and responsibilities associated with this role:

  • Case and client management from inception to completion
  • Attendances at court
  • Attendances at consultations
  • Drafting of commercial agreements, pleadings, affidavits
  • Advising clients
  • Perform accurate legal research and analysis.
  • Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations in legal documents.
  • Compile, proofread and revise drafts of legal documents and reports.
  • Drafting of legal opinions
  • Providing mentorship to those at the firm, candidate attorneys and support staff
  • Participate/facilitate training sessions, workshops, and seminars

EE candidates preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Johannesburg, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
  • No relocation fees payable by Maphike Inc.
